Around the Horn

Breaking news this morning is that Joe Nathan the RHP for the Detroit Tigers is done for the season due to needing Tommy John surgery.

Going back to the youngsters in Chicago. Addison Russell got his first hit yesterday after going 0 for 5 in his major league debut. Kris Bryant is also making news as he went from 3B to CF yesterday and it looks as if he’s batting clean up today and playing CF again. I just heard the Cubs are the only team not to lose back to back games this year.  They wrap up their 4 game series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh today.

The struggling Giants won yesterday’s game against the Dodgers with a walk off hit by Joe Panik. And finally the best record in baseball belongs to the New York Mets at 12-3 who have a Subway series scheduled against the Yankees this weekend. Eight day games today so teams can get out-of-town and get on the road for their weekend series.
