K’s for Kluber

Last night Corey Kluber got his first win of the season. He did it with a shutout against the first place Cardinals by striking out 18 through 8 innings. Kluber threw 113 pitches, 74 for strikes and faced 26 batters in what was a stellar pitching performance.

All the baseball analysts have been negative on Kluber this year. They say he doesn’t have the same stuff, can’t pitch like he did last year, and he can’t win the Cy Young again. It seems like Kluber shut them all up last night.

Kluber had a no hitter going into the 7th inning which was broken up by Jhonny Peralta. Keep in mind the Cardinals aren’t a sack of potatoes. They hold the best record in the National League 23-10.
