Oakland A’s Celebrate 50th Anniversary with Top 50 player list

In Oakland today they announced their 50 greatest A’s players to coincide with their 50th Anniversary.  I’ll let you guess who receive the most votes.  If you guessed Rickey Henderson you are right.  Below is the list in alphabetical order courtesy of the Athletic Nation article by Alex Hall.

There are a few players on the list that I didn’t know but honestly I didn’t know a lot about the Athletics until I moved to the West Coast.  I actually have been to a game in Oakland and their fan base was about as loyal as I’ve seen.  I’m sure a few of the A’s fans can argue this list but I do know it’s tough to create a list like this as you have to include a little something for everyone to get the fans in to it.   From what I see I think they did a good job melding the all the decades together.
