This Weekend’s Recap

Lots to discuss this morning. The Mets have won 8 in a row but lost 2 more players to injury on Sunday. The World Series Champs have lost 9 of their last 11 and are sitting in the cellar in the NL West at 3 and 10.

Now for some slugging on Sunday we’ll begin with Nelson Cruz from the Mariners who’s leading the league with 8 home runs. He hit 2 yesterday along with the game winning single and had 5 RBI. Yoenis Cespedes had 2 home runs and a career high 6 RBI’s in the Tigers 9-1 win against the White Sox. And then there’s Adam Jones. He had 1 home run and went 4 for 5 yesterday with 5 RBI’s in the Orioles win over the Red Sox.

Did I mention the scuffle between the A’s and the Royals? Only 2 players (Lorenzo Cain and Brett Lawrie) were hit by pitches, but 5 Royals managed to get ejected. Lawrie got hit by Kelvin Herrara’s 100 mph fastball and probably has a really nice bruise today.

It’s Patriots day in Boston which means a day game for the Red Sox and the Boston Marathon. Enjoy your Monday!
