World Series Weddings

Love and marriage were certainly in the air this off-season.  Wedding planners were kept busy from coast to coast.  It began with shortstop Carlos Carrera proposing to his girlfriend Danielle Rodgriguez on national television after winning Game 7 of the World Series.  Then Justin Verlander, Justin Turner, Mike Trout and George Springer all walked down the aisle over the next few months.

Justin Verlander and Kate Upton didn’t plan on a World Series Game 7 when they began planning their wedding. Their friends and family made it to Italy before they did. After beating the Dodgers in LA 5 to 1 the couple hurried to Italy for their November 4th nuptials.  Italy was the chosen location because it was one of the first places the couple had vacationed together.  The two shared this photo with the public on their social media accounts.

Baseballs most famous ginger Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner and his now wife Kourtney wed in December.  They were married by none other than former Dodger pitcher and World Series MVP, Orel Hershiser.  Talk about a baseball wedding.  Turner had proposed in a monumental setting at the edge of the Grand Canyon in March of 2017.

Los Angeles Angel Mike Trout proposed via a sky writer on a blue sky day in July of 2016.  Trout tied the knot on a snowy day in December marrying his long time girlfriend Jessica Cox at the Ashford Estate in New Jersey.  Several former Angel players like Torri Hunter and Jared Weaver were in attendance.

Lastly, Houston Astro World Series MVP George Springer celebrated his wedding day this January at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California.   Springer and his longtime love Charlise Castro celebrated along with many of his Astros teammates.  The wedding brought together opposing World Series Managers AJ Hinch and Dave Roberts.  It was announced that Roberts would be staying at Hinch’s house for Springers big day, proving love conquers all.
