Minor League Fun Cup

How many of you have ever attended a Minor League baseball game? With a whopping 247 teams chances are you have been to one. This baseball season be sure to pencil one in on your calendar and invite your friends and family.  Minor League games are easier on the wallet have so much to offer your entire family and are just plain fun.

Games are chalk full of young talent that are all trying to make a name for themselves.  Concessions are cheap, our local team the Spokane Indians have a $1 family feast night where concessions are all a buck.  Mascots run around the stands readily available for that selfie opportunity and then there’s that home town feel.  Sponsors can be anything from your local bank to your feed store.  Parents tend to allow their kids to go unaccompanied to play areas or open lawn areas to run around.

There’s also a certain creative flair when it comes to giveaways or in between inning entertainment.  I once won a used car at a Tacoma Rainers game between the 6th and 7th inning.  Today MiLB announced the introduction of a season long event named  “Copa de la Diversión,” or “Fun Cup.”  It is designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities.

Below are just 15 of the participating teams on the  “Gira de la Copa” cup tour this season which begins on April 8th, spans 160 games and visits 19 different states.
